3 ways to make geeky small talk plus a brand new video!

There are some of us out there who are not all fabulously geeky, therefore I have devised 3 simple ways for any non geek to increase the cool factor and make small talk with other geeks (cos we so awesome!).

1)Bring up your favourite childhood shows

Chances are you have some memory of your favourite tv show as a kid. Whether it be power rangers, transformers or batman, bringing up some of that nostalgia would lead to a better chance for making a connection and engaging in conversation.

2)Mention some youtube videos you've recently watched (or not).

What is life without youtube these days? There are plenty of videos to choose from, some viral while some aren't. If at a loss for what to say, mention a video on youtube that you found interesting. Even if it is Nyan Cat...

You'll be able to get the ball rolling at least. Doesn't matter if it isn't recent either, things remain popular for awhile.

3) Talk about your favourite movie

Movies are another good point of geeky conversation. Some people look at movies for their artistic merit while others enjoy the simple entertainment of it. Your favourite movie might not necessarily be easily relatable to everyone but it displays your taste and from there, your conversation partner will be able to pick up on what sort of similar taste you might have in other things.
